Portola Valley Home
Built for artists, the project featured large studio facilities for the clients. We installed a living roof that required special construction and drainage while integrating the house into nature. Views of the bay and protected open space areas are provided by large-format windows and doors. Our carpenters installed the unfinished siding with care to avoid leaving handprints on the material so that it could weather naturally. A woodshop connected to the main house by a breezeway frames a hand-hewn stone ring which flows into the extensive site development using native plants.
